Welcome to BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire!

Dear all,

It is with great joy and pride that I am able to announce the acquisition of BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire. This milestone marks a strategic turning point for BRED Banque Populaire, paving the way for new development opportunities in Madagascar, a country that is full of promise.

Madagascar holds immense potential, and we aim to actively contribute to its economic growth by serving individual, professional and corporate clients there. Our long-standing presence in the neighbouring territories of Reunion Island and Mayotte, combined with our international experience, stretching from the Pacific to Africa and Asia, will enable us to better serve our clients while contributing to the growth of BRED Banque Populaire.

I am also very pleased to announce that Thierry Charras-Gillot has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire as of today. Thierry’s background, from his beginnings with the overseas banking network through to his time as CEO of BCI in New Caledonia and then his appointment as CEO of BRED Bank Fiji, is a testament to his ability to lead teams to success. I wish him every success in his new role and I know that I can count on his leadership and strategic vision to strengthen BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire’s position in Madagascar.

I attach great importance to the human aspect of this new international acquisition. I would like us all to extend a warm welcome to the BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire teams. We will be prioritising their integration and will do everything we can to make them feel fully supported and valued within our large BRED family.

I would also like to express my deep gratitude to all the teams at BRED Banque Populaire who helped make this acquisition a success and who will continue their efforts in the coming months. Thanks to your commitment and responsiveness, we have been able to complete the acquisition in record time. Thank you!

Together, we have achieved an important milestone and we will build a promising future for BRED Banque Populaire, our teams, our clients and our partners in Madagascar.
