Thierry Charras-Gillot is appointed Chief Executive Officer of BRED Madagasikara Banque Populaire, effective December 20, 2024. He reports to Régis Barriac, Director of International. Thierry Charras-Gillot’s mission is to ensure the strengthening of our new subsidiary, the leading bank in Madagascar. This recent acquisition is a step that marks a strategic turning point for BRED Banque Populaire, opening the way to new development opportunities in this high-potential country.
Career Background
With 32 years of experience at BRED Banque Populaire, Thierry Charras-Gillot was since 2018 Chief Executive Officer of BRED Bank Fiji. Thierry Charras-Gillot joined BRED Banque Populaire in 1993 as a corporate sales manager in La Réunion, then became key accounts automotive sector sales manager in Paris in 1998, before being appointed Director of Corporate Banking in Martinique in 2001, and finally responsible for six BRED Banque Populaire branches in 2004.
In 2005, Thierry Charras-Gillot became Chief Executive Officer of SOFIDER in La Réunion. In 2010, he became Regional Director Martinique/Guyana, Chief Executive Officer of BRED COFILEASE and Deputy General Director of SOFIAG.
Thierry Charras-Gillot joined BCI New Caledonia as Chief Executive Officer in 2014.
