The BCI is committed to fighting breast cancer

The BCI has made a further commitment by sponsoring the La Nouméenne OPT 2020 event, an all-female race to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. Despite the rain, 4,000 New Caledonian women and girls took part in the event. The funds raised are then donated to New Caledonia’s Ligue Contre le Cancer charity, where they will be used to finance initiatives related to this work.

A number of the BCI’s employees, having swapped the blue of the bank for pink race attire, were also on the starting line to support this cause.

In New Caledonia, between 100 and 120 women a year are affected by this disease: alongside the race, prevention stands were on hand to teach participants about measures such as self-examination.

Through the support of the participants and partners, more than three million francs XPF (1 euro = 120 francs XPF) were collected!
