CEO of BRED Bank Fiji: 2022’s speech

Thierry CHARRAS-GILLOT, CEO of BRED Bank Fiji has made a 2022’s speech for the BFL’s employees. Here’s some extracts:

“2022 has been the most successful year in the history of BBF!

  • Our Loan portfolio increased by 37 %,
  • Our ambition of ONE BILLION loan book achieved;
  • Deposits increased by 40%;
  • Net profit has increased by 700%, reaching a HISTORIC FJD 20.1 Million (versus 2.82m in 2021)
  • Deposit market share increased to 10.97% (compared to 7.80% in December 2021)
  • Loans market share increased to 12.91% (compared to 10.37% in December 2021)

These results and our growth trajectory show that being customer-focused is the best strategy.

“…we are very optimistic of expanding BBF in line with our strategy of Banking Without Distance.”

We are in the process of purchasing the Tower Insurance Building, which is a prime real estate in the heart of Suva – the 2 floors space will be our new branch where our current MHCC branch will shift.

We are in the process of purchasing 2 floors (15th and 16th Floor) in the upcoming FHL Tower Building in Suva. This will be our new Head Office and it is more than double the size of our current Head office.

We are continuing to make significant strides in uplifting the brand image. As such we have secured the Naming rights of the 18 story FHL Tower building, where our Head office will shift AND the building will be called the BRED Bank Tower!

“Our branch expansion is accelerating on par with our growth”

Construction has begun on our new branch in Centerpoint in Nasinu – we will move the current Valelevu branch to this $4 million branch which will have the Retail Branch on ground floor and a Business Center on the top floor. With ample parking space for our customers and staff, this branch will be ready this April!

For the first time, we are going to open a branch in Labasa. We have identified a very strategic location and the planning process has begun. We are optimistic to open Labasa branch by June-July this year.

“Together with our capital investments, we are equally committed to investing in staff training & development, products and technology which equip us to accelerate our growth.”

“2023 is going to be challenging because we continue to face tremendous competition from local and foreign players.”

BBF’s greatest strength has been our customer-focused culture & workforce. Whether you are in the frontline or in support functions, exceeding customer expectation and experience is everyone’s responsibility.

With your dedication to customers, we will tackle all challenges and achieve our vision, to be Fiji’s preferred bank through Banking Without Distance.

The future is exciting and with your commitment and support we will make 2023 another fantastic year for BRED Bank Fiji! “
