BRED supports Taloa Community

Taloa Village on Nguna Island, north of Efate is the gateway to tourist attractions on the Island.

The Village features a community Hall (Taloa Community Hall) which has been used as refuge for the villagers during natural disasters like cyclones and as a revenue stream for the villagers when NGO’s hold workshops in which they rent to the community.

The site where the community hall is located has been recently nominated and protected by UNESCO as a cultural protected site. The community hall has been destroyed by Cyclone Pam and this year the chiefs on the island have nominated a committee to raise funds to rebuild the Hall. The committee have agreed to organize Gala Night to raise funds towards the community hall rebuild.

BRED was informed of their request and has stepped in immediately to assist with a donation of Vatu 150K.
