BRED Bank (Fiji) made a cash donation of $2,000 to the Fiji Cancer Society to support awareness and fight against breast cancer. While presenting the cheque, CEO Thierry CHARRAS-GILLOT said “Although this is a challenging year for business, the Bank is pleased to support this worthy cause which will increase the awareness and importance of early detection and timely treatment, which directly contributes to saving lives. I also take this opportunity to commend the outstanding work of the Fiji Cancer Society in prevention, diagnosis, treatment support & providing hope to patients and their families affected by cancer.” In addition to the donation, the Bank has placed country-wide initiatives to raise awareness among all staff members which will support the holistic mission of the national PINKTOBER awareness month. The Bank is also helping the society by making available coin collection cans in all its Branches and the Head Office, this gives our customers the opportunity to join the fight. With his concluding remarks, Mr. GILLOT assured that BRED Bank (Fiji) is committed to making a lasting impact in Fijian communities as a responsible corporate. The CEO for Fiji Cancer Society, Belinda Chan while receiving this donation acknowledged BRED Bank (Fiji) for their support towards the awareness campaign. “The timely donation will definitely boost our services and programs carried out to those impacted by cancer. This year, we have registered a total of 196 patients and from these 196 we have a total of 69 breast cancer patients.” Said Ms. Chan. “Cancer will never sleep and neither will the Fiji Cancer Society team,” she concluded. |
