BCIMR becomes a partner of Djiboutian Armed Forces

The BCIMR, in its capacity as the first bank of the financial place of the country, have signed the agreement with the Armed Forces of Djibouti for the financing of the 2nd tranche of social housing for the military.

On Wednesday 02 February 2022, the General Director, Mr Régis BARRIAC and the Deputy General Director, Mr Abdallah Ibrahim Abdallah, went to the premises of the Direction of International Relations, for the signature of the financing agreement for social housing. This bipartite agreement between the Djibouti Armed Forces and the BCIMR will make it possible to implement a project to finance 700 housing units for military families. The location chosen for the construction of this housing is in Balbala SUD, the construction works are estimated to last 12 months and the contract has been attributed to the Turkish company ERSA.

These housings range from F2 to F4 to accommodate the military and their families.

The Minister of Defence in charge of relations with the Parliament, H.E. Hassan Omar Mohamed, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Zakaria Cheick Ibrahim, as well as Colonel-Major Mohamed Kayad Guelleh, Deputy Chief of the Defence Staff, honoured the ceremony with their presence.

This agreement further strengthens the close relationship between the BCIMR and the Djiboutian State.
